Rates, Deposits & Cancellation Policies

Our rates are based on double occupancy. Third and fourth occupants are $25.00 per person (only the Beach Suite can accomodate more than 2 people). See our rooms and rates for more information.

Quoted rates are for stays of 2 nights or longer. Weekend stays (Thurs-Fri, Fri-Sat or Sat-Sun) must be at least two nights - see exceptions. Single-night stays are allowed Sunday - Thursday for an additional room charge of $25 - there are some exceptions. Our online reservation system does not add $25 automatically, so we will do it manually before check out. See rooms and rates for more information.

Reservations may be made on-line or by phone with a credit card deposit of 50% of the total stay. Check availability.

Immediate Confirmation:bYou should receive a confirmation by email within 2 minutes of booking your reservation on-line or by phone. Please review for accuracy and driving directions. If you don't receive an email confirmation, please telephone.

Payment: We accept MasterCard and Visa. San Diego requires us to collect a lodging occupancy tax of 10%.

Children: Our tranquil and peaceful home and Inn is for adults and older, mature children. Well mannered children seven and older may be accommodated after a telephone conversation and approval from Ann or Terry.

Deposits: Our reservation system charges your credit card a 50% deposit and instantly emails you a confirmation. The balance due will be charged the morning of your scheduled arrival. If you do not receive and instant confirmation email, please telephone.

Cancellations: When you book a suite at the Inn at Moonlight Beach, we block, reserve and hold that suite specifically for you. Because we're a small B & B in a resort community where guests book well in advance, it is difficult for us to re-book rooms without adequate notice. Please note that you must obtain a cancellation number! Without it, you have not cancelled.

If you've booked a 1 or 2 night stay, your deposit will be refunded (less a $50 admin fee) if you give us 16 days written notice. 30 days of notice is required for stays of 3 - 6 nights, 45 days notice for stays of 7 nights or more. The $50 admin fee may be applied as a credit to a future stay within 12 months of the cancellation.

In the unlikely event that you cancel with less than the agreed days of notice, shorten your stay, or check out early, please understand that we must ask you to take responsibility for your entire reservation. We will attempt to rebook your room, and if we can, a full or partial refund will be made.

We strongly recommend Trip Insurance that allows you to "cancel for any reason" if you have any concerns about needing to cancel your reservation.

Communication: We always respond to every email we receive. If you send us an email and do not receive a reply within 8 hours, we have not seen your email - please telephone! Important topics like changes to your reservation and/or cancellation are best handled by telephone.

Special Diets: Our breakfasts are described on the breakfast tab. We regret that because we're a small Inn, we cannot accommodate special orders for breakfast. If you have special diet needs, we can recommend an excellent nearby specialty grocery store and health food store.

Please, No Guests of Guests: We welcome you as guests in our home. Due to limited parking and the small size of our home, we regret that we cannot accommodate guests of our guests - even for brief visits. The nearby Best Western Hotel provides accommodations suitable for small and large social gatherings.

Tranquil and Peaceful is our motto. We welcome you as guests in our home. Our bedroom is located directly above the garage and parking area - please refrain from cell phone conversations in the parking area at any time. Please do not use car door-lock-unlock remotes that sound a horn or alarm after dark, and please speak softly in the parking area at night. Please keep televisions and radios on low volume so as not to disturb other guests who may be meditating, reading, napping or just enjoying the fresh ocean breeze. Cell Phones: Please respect the privacy of other guests and limit cell phone usage to your room, never in the Sunroom, the parking lot, decks or other common areas.

Trains: Train tracks are across the street from the Inn. Trains come by the Inn. We like them - they are cool. Sometimes they sound their whistles. Learn more about the trains.

Air Conditioning: We enjoy the fresh ocean sea breezes and have never desired air conditioning. Learn more about sea breezes and air conditioning.

Ocean Views: We're located 3 blocks from the water's edge. Read about our peek-a-boo ocean views.

Check-in time is 2:00 p.m. or any time later. Please telephone if you wish to arrive earlier and we'll do our best to accomodate you. Please email or telephone if you plan to check-in after 7:00 p.m. and we'll leave a note on the office window, a key in your room door and the lights on for you.

Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. No need to stop in the office. Just leave your key in the room and bon voyage!

Smoking: The Inn is a non-smoking inn, which includes not only the rooms, but the grounds and outside decks and patios. Smokers may take a pleasant walk 150 feet down the street to Cottonwood Creek Park, a delightful park with beautiful trails and plantings.

Parking: We have off-street parking for one vehicle per guest. We regret that due to limited parking, we can't accommodate your guest's cars even for brief visits. Please arrange to meet them at a location other than the Inn.
